Patients rarely feel discomfort and the treatment can be performed without local anesthesia. However, if a patient is sensitive to pain, a topical anaesthetic can be applied to the treatment area prior to the procedure.
Patients might experience some slight redness in the treated area but will disappear within a few hours. Patients should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight for a few days post treatment and should always be sure to apply sunscreen.

Our Skin Specialist will discuss any necessary pre-treatment preparation at consultation. Everyone’s skin is different so your preparation will be tailored to your skin. Sun protection with an SPF 50 applied daily is advised pre and post treatment. It is important that you have had no recent sun exposure for one week prior to treatment, that is no sun or wind burn.
